Luxury boutique powerhouse Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is adding another hotel to its Alexandria mix.
Construction is scheduled to begin this month on a 107-room, $50 million boutique at 1600 King St. in Old Town, the company announced Tuesday.
The yet-to-be named hotel joins the Morrison House and Hotel Monaco--set to open this fall--as the third Kimpton operation in historic Old Town Alexandria.
Kimpton is partnering with Boston-based DSF Group and designer Vicente Wolf to create the hotel. Its features include a 4,000-square foot spa, an upscale restaurant and wine bar and 3,000 square feet of meeting space.
Known for its buildings' stylized decor, San Francisco-based Kimpton will also open Hotel Palomar Arlington at Waterview on Oct. 1, the company's first "ground-up" property in Northern Virginia.
