Initially developed by John Slater as a textile mill village 200 years ago, both federal and state governments provided historic tax credits to the DSF Group for preserving and redeveloping this important landmark. Value Added Strategy
This is another instance in which our extensive relationships in the industry enabled us to secure the right to acquire and then redevelop this significant historic landmark. Having successfully navigated the complex local and state permitting and zoning regulations DSF was able to renovate the several buildings in this village and receive both federal and state historic tax credits. Now this totally renovated and repositioned mill complex provides 224 Class A residential units with significant amenities such as walking and bicycle trails, an indoor sports court, private screening room, clubhouse, swimming pool and fitness center as well as one of the first Halstead Clubs in New England.
